You could be hearing this for the first time though. If It’s actually possible or feasible to study two courses all at the same time in Nigeria. Yea let’s give a proper and not confusing answer to the question. Is it possible to study two Courses at the same time in Nigeria?

  1. Yes, you can study two-degree courses at the same time In Nigeria. But not in the same university but at different universities that’s if you have the energy and resources.
  2. Also, you can study two courses at the same time by using this format; by studying one course with a polytechnic programme and the other course in a university.
  3. You could also study a degree course while studying a master’s degree course at a different university.

In other for us not to make you confused so to make you understand and be convinced let’s break the whole thing into bits.

Let’s bring out these questions which may cross your mind;

  • Is it possible to study two degrees simultaneously in the same institution In Nigeria?

The answer to the first question is a Capital NO. Students are not allowed to study two-degree courses at the same university at the same time in Nigeria. You either can come back after completing a particular degree course to study another one of your choice.

But in cases where you were offered admission in a course that you maybe did not want or you failed to meet the course cutoff mark even after beginning studies maybe you are in your 200l or even 300l  in a given department you are still eligible and free to seat for Jamb and the aptitude test in the same university and if successful then you are totally free to move to your required course and also if you have the will, strength, energy and resources to study two courses in the same university in Nigeria then you deserve a round of a plus+ .

But the answer to if you can study two-degree courses simultaneously in the same institution in Nigeria the answer is direct and simple. No!
All Universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education have a uniform policy that won’t permit you to study two-degree courses in the same university Simultaneously.

Is it Possible to study two courses at the same time at different universities?

The answer to this is a Yes, it’s very feasible that you can Study two courses at the same time but only at different universities.

First of all, it is possible since it’s permitted.

Using this as an example, you can be studying Law at the University of Lagos and at the same time a a political science student at Akwa-Ibom State University. It’s also possible even if it’s two different Federal universities.

What of studying a degree course combined with a Polytechnic course?

This is not  different from the scenario discussed above.

I have a friend who was given admission into Agric Econs in the university of uyo and at the same time was given admission into Federal Polytechnic Ukana. He is a strong man actually so he ran the two courses all at the same time. He completed his degree course a year after finishing his HND programme at the polytechnic.

That was just an example though but it’s very possible and realistic to study two course at the same time in different universities.

Can I Study a Degree programme while on a Masters (PDG) programme?

This is another unique scenario; Let’s assume you’re done with degree course which automatically qualifies you for a master’s degree programme. But you also have another degree programme at hand ongoing and yet, you are not sure and could be asking yourself this question: Can I Study a Degree programme while on a Masters (PDG) programme?

Let’s put it this way and direct just like the above discussed scenario tertiary institutions on’t grant you permission to study a degree course together with a postgraduate programme in the same institutiin all at the same time but as the case maybe you can study a degree course while on a PDG programme in different universities as long as you have the time, money and energy to undertake both programmes
