National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) Admission Form 2021/2022.

The national open university of Nigeria form for admission is now available for purchase. The NOUN has announced the sales of their application forms for admission into the following programmes: Diploma, Undergraduate, Post Graduate Diploma, Master’s Degree, and Doctor of Philosophy Programmes for the 2020/2021 Academic Year.

The method of admission at National open university of Nigeria is by distance learning mode enclosed in an open environment for learning. For further understanding; open learning could be seen as “A form of learning which the process aids prospective learners to exercise choice over one or more number aspects of learning.”

Admission Requirement for Noun

All prospective candidates seeking for admission into the available programmes are to possess a minimum requirement for entry which are underlisted as follows:

NOUN undergraduate programme:
Admission into 100 Level In Noun;
The requirements of getting admission majorly into the NOUN programme

Includes Candidates having five (5) credits in their SSCE, GCE, O’Level, NECO, NABTEB with a maximum of (2) sittings obtained in subjects which are relevant to the choosen field(s) of study.

The five (5) credits should be in only the cognitive courses like Mathematics, English and 3 other related subjects.

Admission into 200 Level;
(i) A National Diploma with Upper Credit from a recognized institution.
(ii) An NCE qualification in subject(s) related to the chosen programme of study with at least a minimum of 1 merit and 2 passes.
(iii) International Baccalaureates, Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB) with at least two A’Level papers in relevant subjects and pre-requisite number of O’Level credit passes.

The Postgraduate Programmes:
For candidates to gain admission to any of the postgraduate programmes of the university he or she must meet all the basic requirement of 5 Credit in core subjects listed, English and mathematics. Even some programmes accepts a minimum of pass.

Candidates applying for post graduate Diploma programme must have a minimum of pass Bachelor’s degree in any field of study in a university which is recognized by the senate of the National open university of Nigeria. And also, what candidates can use to apply is a higher National diploma with at least lower credit.

Also, for a candidate to apply for postgraduate diploma in Legislative drafting he/she must have been called to bar.

Also, for candidates applying for admission into school of business and Human Resource Management and Human resource management postgraduate diploma programmes, candidates the following out listed qualifications may also be considered as based on individuals’ grades.

For Master’ programmes, candidates are to possess a Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum CGPS of 2:2 in the relevant field of study from a well-recognized and known University by the Senate of the National open university of Nigeria.

Candidates using or with a minimum a minimum of 2 years relevant pos-qualification experience may be taken in on personal merit or using a postgraduate diploma in relevant field of study from a recognized university or with a higher National Diploma with at least upper credit in an affiliated field of study.

Candidates with who possesses a membership certificate of also relevant professional bodies can also apply for the (MBA)master of business programme.

For PhD programmes in philosophy, candidates must have a master’s degree honor in a relevant field of study from an institution recognized by the senate of the National open university of Nigeria with a Minimum score of 60% or a CGPA of 3.5 on a 5-point scale.

Programme Duration

The National open university of Nigeria operates a flexible Time table which gives and allows students to determine the pace, place, time and even the medium of study. The Noun student facilities are made available all over study centers nationwide.

How can I apply for NOUN Admission Form?

The entire NOUN admission processes are done electronically, meaning it’s online and operates 24-hours a day. The application process is as follows:

  1. Log unto the NOUN Portal via
  2. On reaching the Home Page, hover on the Menu Bar, hover on Apply for Admission
  3. Select either the Undergraduate Programme / Postgraduate Programme. Currently we do not have Other programme available
  4. Go to “Choose Faculty” (note it can be found at the left-hand side of the screen)
  5. Select your intended Faculty and complete the displayed form. Hover on the below to view admission criteria
  6. Hover on “Apply” to proceed. Take note of the UNIQUE ID displayed
  7. Hover on the ‘Continue’ button. Select the Bank Branch as payment type then you
    Click “Pay”
  8. Copy your RRR number and take it to any of the bank branch for payment.
  9. After payment, repeat the 1-3 process again then go to “Continue After Payment”
  10. Input your unique ID, RRR number and Programme and click “Proceed”. Fill the Form. Note: all the area with red star is compulsory and you can’t proceed if left incomplete.
  11. After completing the forms, hover on “Submit” and then print Admission Letter
  12. Then walk into the nearest NOUN study centre for your screening.
